What do we as people know?

I find more and more we are slaves to society. 'Well you most likely reading this are a reality within this 'we', this mass generality that becomes America, the land of the great, a free place. I want you to consider something, I've read recently on a scientific poll:

• 1/5 of Americans could name only one of the first five amendments.
• 4/5 people could name one simpsons character.
• Even worse, only 1/1000 people could name all five amendments.

All this means to you my reader is 'we' have no safeguard for the unfettered beast that manifests itself each day. This beast is a beast we tried to relinquish many a times, Patrick Henry says: "Give me liberty or give me death", but this beast, is the absense of liberty. And even after our forerunners like Patrick henry, have fought the good fight, now we must! With the sadly astounding facts abovementioned, we may never know it, until it's too late, our rights as people are gone.
We are slaves to the credit card companies, we are slaves to the NSA, I feel like a stuffed dog sitting within a glass case, waiting for the claw to withdrawl me from my enviroment and give me to a fervent patron, one of the many dangers waiting to dispose itself upon my world.
Just think about it.
