What defines crazy?

Well as the title might suggest(i would hope at least) what exactly defines crazy? What do I mean by this? Well what is the word crazy really? Is it a social distinction? Something to describe what we *choose* is wrong; or are *ignorant* to understand?

Crazy in my eyes is an overused term, normally affixed with the most minimal levels of sincerity, kind of tossed around in conversation most often misused.

I don't know feel free and obliged to give me your opinions.
